ReplyDeleteIts looks stunning on a 1080p display thru VLC and when I play it on a Seiki 4K monitor it looks the same maybe a little bit worse Could be the quality of the Seiki monitor though but the 4K video stream looks identical on the 1080p Samsung Edit Dont watch it thru the youtube player download it and watch in VLC or another video player
ReplyDelete4K vs 1080p Which is better in 2017 When it comes to resolution its important to note that what makes a great film is not what resources you dont have but by the resources you do have In todays day and age there are movie studios and production companies releasing 4K blurays 4K content on Netflix and also 4K movies on iTunes
ReplyDeleteHi Yes you can watch them but the player you are using uses the 1080P codec to play the file Hence it is of no use to watch the 4K file on 1080P screen Cheers
ReplyDeleteya that is one of the reasons why im thinking about skipping 1440p and going to 4K i watch a lot of 1080p movies and 4K has a perfect 12 upscale while 1440p wont be as clear on the other hand 720p content should be fine on a 1440p only reason for it to look bad is the lack of video bitrate
ReplyDeleteAt this point I have about 40 movies that are x265 encoding mkv container 10bit 4k and they all look washed out under saturated The monitor I am using is not HDR so I dont expect 10 bit colours but I would expect it to downscale one way or another and look like more common 8 bit video I am also assuming that it is 10 bit colour that is
